Staycation: Radisson Blu Resort, Fujairah

We spent the last few days of 2016 by the beach enjoying the coooold water. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Since school is on holiday and it was Christmas week, my husband and I planned the entire week full of activities for us but most especially for my little one to enjoy. Good thing, has plenty of deals. ๐Ÿ˜†

I purchased the 2n/3d at Radisson Blu Fujairah since we haven’t been there yet and the photos on the website looks very impressive. ๐Ÿ˜† Travel was smooth, it was just a bit more than an hour drive to Dubai. We made only 1 stop on the way for a quick bite.

The hotel resort is really nice especially the room. I think all the rooms have balcony overlooking the beach/ocean. Since the weather is really colder now, we turned the a/c off and opened the balcony door. Ahhh the sound of the waves and birds tweeting. It is so relaxing. If you’re not a fan of the ‘sun’ like me :), you can just arrange the balcony tables/chairs, put some snack and drinks, feet up and just listen to the sound of the waves.

The photo above is our room. As soon as we entered the room, we were like ‘woooow’ because we saw the view and even if the balcony door is closed, we can still hear the waves. At that instant, I already felt relaxed. ๐Ÿ˜†

And this is the view from our balcony. How cool is this? ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was really nice match with a perfect weather. I recommend this place if you really want to relax and be away even just for a few days from the hustle and bustle of the city.

My only (-) nega review will be the swimming pool which is not temperature controlled. It was really freeeezing cold, no wonder no one dared to swim but ‘us’. ๐Ÿ˜† They have a total of 4 swimming pools, 2 smaller ones which were temp controlled hence packed plus the other 2 big ones that is empty! The kiddie pool pad which looks very nice with small fountains also is empty because kids will get sick if they stay/play there. It is really really cold.

So this is my little one who braved the large swimming pool because she likes it better than the smaller one. We managed to stay for about 15 minutes max, playing. She kept saying we need to keep moving so we will not feel cold and freeze to death. ha ha ha. But all in all, in spite of this, the hotel resort is a good place to relax.

Also, the in-room dining does not seem fresh. I ordered for chicken caesar’s salad and the chicken was really hard, obviously it is an old stock. The pasta is as well not very presentable, they placed it on a bento box! with all other spaces of bento box empty! There’s no complimentary bread selection which is normally included in other hotels.

Breakfast spread is huge but don’t expect anyย asian food which I hope they add. There’s a wide variety of bread, fruits and cheese. They also have waffle and pan cake station.

Wallet Damage for the hotel is not much, I purchased AED 700 for 2n/3 days from groupon deal and paid only the 20% service charge at the hotel.

Staff are friendly and very courteous.

There’s plenty of other amenities too that includes a kids club, pool and table tennis table, plus some arcade game machines.

If you want to visit a mall, Fujairah City Center is an hour drive from the hotel. They have shuttle service but we opted to drive so we can manageย our own time. The mall is very small ๐Ÿ™‚ but they have cafe (Starbucks and Tim Hortons) and carrefour in case you need anything. There’s also small vox cinema which barely have people ๐Ÿ˜‰ so when we watched ‘sing’ only 3 of us were inside. ๐Ÿ˜†
