Yep! We have that here in the sandpit and plenty of that, to boot! 😉 You will actually not feel sad anymore during the festive season because the whole of UAE is now celebrating our favourite season too.
There’s plenty of Santa Grotto too for the little one to visit and ask Santa what they want for Christmas. Our favorite is the Santa Grotto in Wafi. We’ve been going there for the past 5 years already and I’ve no plan to cut that tradition for my little one not unless we leave the sandpit. With a minimal fee of AED 60, you and your little one can have a photo taken at Santa’s little cottage, Santa will spend a few minutes talking to your child and s/he’ll come out the cottage with a present plus a souvenir printed photo.
Wafi is decorated with everything christmassy and there’s a small play area with man-made snow for kids and adult to goof around.
We recently visited the Christmas Winter Garden at Habtoor City, St. Regis Hotel and got a chance to have another photo op with the man in red suit! I like this one as it’s not as huge as the one in DMC and not too crowded too. There’s 3 rides for the little ones and a ginger bread man/house decorating area.
Entrance is free and there’s a minimal fee of AED 10 for each ride. I love that this is now available as the place is really nice, not too far and not too crowded too.
Another favourite of ours this year is the Snow Globe at Level Kids, City Walk.
You can actually go inside the snow globe 😉 We did so but my little one decided to get out fast because the snowy stuff keeps getting into her lips and eyes . We still have our ticket for the ginger bread house making which we will avail in the coming weekend.
If your little one wants to see Santa, you should bring them to city center malls and Hamleys too. They are there almost everyday. Now that school is on a break, and if your family is not travelling out of UAE, make the most of the open festive activities for the whole family to enjoy.
I heard Legoland, Motiongate and Bollywood parks are now open too. I’m yet to discover that hopefully in the new year holiday since we’re already booked for the coming weekends.
The Festive Market at Madinat is now open too. We went there last Christmas Day and had lots of fun. I’m pretty sure it’s packed this time again so better plan and be there early to get a good parking.
If you’re still looking where to spend christmas or have turkey take-aways for a hassle free dinner at home, all hotels offer it. You might want to check groupon for some discounted voucher for that too. 😉
Have a wonderful holiday everyone!
