Din Tai Fung is an Asian, Chinese casual dining located at the new addition area of Mall of the Emirates just near the cinema. I’ve heard about this very popular restaurant before but only visited two weeks ago and came back the week after! 😉 It truly deserve the people queuing just to get a table even if they wait 45 mins to an hour. The food is really delicious adding to their very affordable price.
According to the intro of the mall, Din Tai Fung was ranked as one of the world’s Top Ten Best Restaurants by The New York Times. Its roots dating back to Taiwan 40 years ago. With a wide selection of enticing dishes, diners are destined to tuck into flavourful creations that burst into delight with each and every bite.
Our fave so far is the house special chili noodles which only costs AED 31 for a bowl two people can share (that is if you want to share!). The veg and chicken dimsum is only AED 24 for 6 pieces. That, I think really is cheap compared to other asian/chinese restaurant in town. The taste of their food (for me) is really incomparable to China Times or Noodle House. No wonder people flock to this restaurant even the local Chinese.
When you’re seated, you will be provided a rack where you can place your bag, which they will then cover with a cloth. I really like the idea as it shows they value your valuables too.
You will then be provided with the menu and a small slip of paper where you will tick your order. Sort of the same as in Noodle House but the difference is, the waiter will cross check with the slip every time they bring the food on your table and once completed, you’ll have the receipt ready. No need to call and wait for the waiter to bring you the bill. 😉
The second time we went there, we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. 😉 They probably have 100s of those restaurant beepers 😉 There’s Starbucks close by so customers (including us) had coffee first lol.
It really is a must visit when you’re craving for Chinese food. I wish they’ll open more branches.
